About Me, Well Hello everyone
well yes I am an avid dreamer too!
I guess I have the right to start looking back at the various types of dreams I can recall having .
As a child I attended boarding school, we were in a very remote location in East Africa so the only option to learn was chosen for me.
I started boarding aged 7, this was during an uprising called the MAU MAU .
My dreaming really started there, I had vivid dreams of someone under my bed wanting to chop my legs off. I feel these dreams were actually caused by fear, however they seemed very real to me at that age.
I have also had periods of dreams where I would sleepwalk, I even got into another boys bed…got shoved out and went back to my own. Sleepwalking at a boarding school is not recommended as the other lads would put a cricket ball in a long sock and hit you with it, it’s a quick way to wake up I’ll tell you.
Two distinct recurring dreams were :- In my dream I could see a tiny but very shiny ball. This ball would slowly get larger and larger until it was about to hit me. I would wake up at that point and usually vomit…we were made to wash our own sheets if that happened.
The other dream was that I was falling, the falling seemed to last for hours, however I would wake before I hit the ground. When I woke I was usually covered in sweat, and quite distressed. No mum to go and cuddle in those days.
Later in life dreams seemed to become much less frequent and they are usually about people such as deceased relatives or grandchildren.
My absolute favorite dream is when I run into the wind, then start flying. This dream seems so real as I can see people watching and pointing at me in amazement. I guess these dreams could be brought on by my love for flight simulators.
